Q · Short answer

What is GitHub?

GitHub is where most software is built and reviewed. Meta named GitHub among Muse’s connectors for getting work done, and it launched on September 29, 2026.

Why it ranks #10

For anyone who writes or manages software, GitHub is the obvious first connector: issues, pull requests and code are the context for nearly every technical question. Meta’s Connect recap named it, and it launched with the Muse for Small Business wave.

Two caveats. GitHub hasn’t published what the connector can do in Muse, and one user reported on September 30 that it was broken for them and they used a personal access token instead. Early issues like this often settle; we’ll keep watching.

It tops our developer ranking but sits lower overall — a specialized tool that wins its category without being the right first connector for most people. That’s exactly how our methodology treats category rankings.
